A day in the life
As the Senior Risk Manager of the Risk Management team, you will manage a team of professionals supporting the Security and Loss Prevention team with translating threat identification into risk assessments, risk treatment plans, mitigation strategies, and escalation frameworks. You will operate in a highly diversified and volatile environment which includes numerous regulatory and law enforcement environments, cultures, languages, criminality levels, as well as national, political, social, and security complexities across EMEA. No one day is the same, so you should expect the unexpected and be able to reprioritize workloads. One day you may be managing operational risk at an enterprise level and the next advising the business on new delivery models. You will develop and manage a risk governance framework that ensures the standardization and consistent application of risk policy and standards across the EMEA region. You will monitor existing and evolving threats, assess risk level changes to drive increased preparedness, and enable business adaptation as well as absorption of changing risk conditions. You will develop risk strategies that ensure a given risk is managed within the risk appetite. You will identify control deficiencies and engage with internal teams to measure impact, design, and drive remediation. You present assessment results to stakeholders throughout the business to drive alignment on Risk Management strategies and train, advise, as well as partner with other teams in identifying, managing, and mitigating risks through robust standards and processes. You partner with teams across the globe to coordinate risk assessments to analyse current risks and identifying potential security risks that are affecting operations across the region, improve global Risk Management processes, and implement global standards.
As the Head of the Risk Management team, your work is both strategic and tactical: you develop and implement strategic goals and roadmaps and drive strategic initiatives impacting the entire EMEA Security and Loss Prevention team, but you also manage the daily workload of your team. You set your team’s project and program management direction and you will be accountable for your team’s performance. Thus, you ensure that the team can effectively deploy resources to deliver their work. You risk assess and prioritize incoming workload to ensure delivery meets service level agreements with internal customers and avoid adverse impact to the business. You will use your knowledge and expertise to coach as well as manage your team and to remove blockers preventing them from achieving their goals and objectives. You manage the planning of recruiting as well as frugal deployment of resources. Finally, you will engage senior management from across EMEA to build a culture of Risk Management awareness, ensure a positive working relationship, and understand opportunities to support.
