We are looking for someone with the drive, enthusiasm and commitment to assist with the day to day operation of the Councils Markets.
Fleetwood Market is a traditional market with over 250 indoor and outdoor stalls. The indoor stalls are housed in heated halls and is open Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday all year round. Poulton market is held every Monday in Poulton-le-Fylde’s historic Market Square (except Bank Holidays) and Cleveleys market is seasonal held on a Wednesday
Supporting the Market Manager in the day to day operation of Fleetwood Market and Cleveleys street market you will also be required to take the lead on Poulton street market, being accountable for all operational issues on the day including market set-up, rent collections, income reconciliation and banking, dispute resolution, record keeping, new trader procurement / events and supervision of market trading.
Reporting to the Markets Manager, your duties will include taking responsibility for the management of Fleetwood Market CCTV, working with stall holders and external agencies dealing with security issues, management of the Market Cleaners and Caretaker, working with the Market Manager to ensure health and safety of customers and stall holders and deputising for the markets manager when required.
With previous experience of working in a retail or market environment, you will have excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate with customers, good IT and organisational skills, with the ability to plan work priorities and deadlines. Previous experience of supervising a small team is essential and knowledge of market legislation, regulation and security experience including operating alarm systems and using CCTV would be an advantage.
You will be required to work Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
