Due to ongoing growth, a unique opportunity has arisen for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join the Development Engineering team and play a leading role in driving innovation through the design of the bespoke, state-of-the art machinery used in the manufacture of medical devices. This ranges from R&D proof-of-principle rigs for pilot manufacture through fully automated, high-volume, complex production equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Specify and design machines incorporating the latest process, inspection, and controls systems.
- Support the commissioning, characterisation, and optimisation of machines, and generate manuals and regulatory documentation for UKCA/CE marking.
- Lead and coach a small team, overseeing their daily activities and providing developmental guidance and line management.
To be successful, you should hold a formal qualification such as an HNC, HND, or degree in an Engineering discipline. You must demonstrate a proven track record and significant experience in designing automated production equipment, either individually or as part of a team. Proficiency in 3D CAD and experience with drawing management systems are essential, with AutoDESK Inventor being preferred.
