About the Role
NB This is a Fixed Term Contract for a minimum period of 6 months.
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Media Manager from the 24th June 2024 (negotiable) for a Fixed Term Contract of 6 months to join our Creative Media Team. This is an exciting opportunity for a creative, organised and enthusiastic individual to work within the Video Stream, across primary, secondary & adult products.
You will be responsible for the management of video and animation requirements for specified projects, which will include setting agreed budgets & schedules and working to existing market requirements. You will also undertake concept and development work, ideation and tendering, commissioning Video, Animation and Illustration Suppliers, freelance Media Managers, Video Project Managers and Packagers plus matrix management of external suppliers and in-house Media Managers. You will work closely with in-house Editors and Designers and external creatives. The role will require a creative, flexible and organised approach in order to meet fluctuating project needs, customer requirements and timeframes.
Key duties of the role will include:
- Project Management of video and animation projects, including outsourcing & managing freelance suppliers
- Project budget management & scheduling
- Matrix management of in-house and external Media Managers
- Attending and overseeing video shoots
- Sourcing & commissioning illustrations
- Picture research
- Commissioning photographers and organizing and directing photoshoots
- Implementation and continuous improvement of relevant workflows & processes
- Advising, tracking and monitoring rights and permissions for Media content.
We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office.
About You
You’ll have a strong visual sense, a keen eye for detail, a passion for video and animation, and the ability to manage several projects concurrently and to work within budget. You’ll have great communication skills, enjoy building relationships and be comfortable negotiating.
Essential skills and experience:
- Experience in film / animation/ design / illustration
- Experience of managing projects involving image (moving and still) creation
- Experience in outsourcing, including negotiating fees and managing budgets
- Experience of professional art editing / art buying (illustration and photography)
- Knowledge of relevant copyright and licensing law
- Experience in creating digital products
- Excellent time management, task prioritizing, and scheduling skills.
Desirable skills and experience:
- Animation in a publishing environment.
- Knowledge of different file types and experience in image manipulation processes
- Experience of working with children and child model licensing.
- Working knowledge of Adobe CC, MS Office, After Effects and Video Editing applications.
