Job Summary:

TTM are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Medical Scientist to join a multidisciplinary team for a large hospital in North Dublin. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a high-quality diagnostic laboratory service in the Microbiology department. The laboratory is part of a multi-disciplinary team for the identification and management of antenatal patients with rare antibodies and those likely to cause HDN. The post holder will work closely with both the chief Medical Scientist and specialist Medical Scientist, together with other Senior Medical Scientists and Medical Scientists as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

* Perform and report on a range of laboratory tests

* Ensure that all laboratory procedures are performed to the highest standards

* Participate in the development and validation of new laboratory tests

* Maintain accurate and up-to-date laboratory records

* Participate in the maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment

* Ensure that laboratory supplies are adequately stocked

* Participate in the training and education of junior staff and students

* Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to patient care

Qualifications and Experience:

* BSc in Biomedical Science/Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent

* Be registered on the Medical Scientists Register maintained by the Medical Scientists Registration Board at CORU

* Possess NFQ Level 9 post graduate qualifications or equivalent qualification at minimum Level 9 validated by the Academy of Clinical Science and Laboratory Medicine

* Should have at least two years' experience as a Medical Scientist working in a Microbiology laboratory
