Senior Operations Manager (Commodities)

Summary:

We are looking for a Senior Operations Manager to join an award-winning commodity trading and supply who provide innovative energy solutions to clients. The role is focused on cash and commodity operations and you will be exposed to a wide variety of tasks covering cash settlement, trade delivery, commodity nominations, cash forecasts and system improvements. Key responsibilities:

• Organisational skills to ensure timely cash and inventory settlements in accordance with contractual documentation.
• Managing the end-of-day inventory reconciliation processes
• Supervising junior members to ensure all tasks are completed accurately and punctually.
• Reconciling and approving trades and trade-related fees in the company’s internal and external systems
• Reviewing and approving transaction documentation (e.g. trade confirmations) to ensure the accuracy of all economic, financial and legal terms.
• Ensuring the systematic management of all information
• Liaising with various departments within the company, including finance, risk, compliance, sales and trading, to ensure any operational issues are resolved in an efficient and timely manner.

Skills and experience required:

• 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role
• Previous experience in middle and/or back-office operations
• Experience within the commodity space,
• Knowledge of financial and physical derivatives and ability to demonstrate a genuine interest in financial markets.
• Understanding of the lifecycle of the trade from execution to settlement
• Strong MS Excel skills
• Demonstrated ability to solve problems independently and quickly
