BDO Regulatory Solutions are currently recruiting for a Senior Product Governance Managerto join our client, an investment management firm. We are offering a 6–12-month contract starting ASAP with a competitive day rate, employed via an Umbrella company.
About the role:
As a Senior Product Governance Manager, will have an emphasis on ensuring that our Product Governance arrangements are compliant with UK regulations in addition to providing general technical and regulatory advice to other members of the PGC. Applications that the firm submits to the FCA for new funds or for changes to funds must meet the high standards expected by our firm and by the regulator; this role will also therefore be required to critically challenge the range of material presented to the PGC for approval ahead of submission to the regulator. To further support the business and ultimately our investors, this role will have a focus on regulatory interpretation and implementation. Working alongside the 1st line business areas to provide guidance, interpretation, and consultation as well as “hands on” guidance with regards to implementation.
Key responsibilities include.
- Primary role is to provide technical expertise and analysis to ensure that fund change events and new fund applications are undertaken in compliance with FCA requirements.
- Attend the monthly PGC meeting and present analysis undertaken of the range of product material submitted by other PGC members.
- Act as the deputy chair upon request of the current chair of PGC; both for ad hoc meetings and to provide cover for absence.
- Attend the monthly Regulatory Change meeting and present analysis undertaken, to determine any fund related impact.
- Attend working groups and committees to assist with fund related regulatory implementation and ensure that procedural amendments are made.
- Provide technical input to Company policies and checklists relating to Product Governance, ensuring they incorporate updated regulatory change including Consumer Duty.
- Attend relevant internal and external meetings to provide guidance on complex and technical matters.
- Contribute to the Governance reporting, as required.
- Act as an authorised signatory for the firm, where required.
- The job holder should have proven financial services experience from working for or with an Authorised Fund Manager or delegate (e.g. Transfer Agent, Fund Administrator) in an investment management environment and have a good understanding of FCA regulatory requirements, industry best practice and an understanding of risk management, both in a regulatory and a wider business context.
- They should be educated to an A Level standard with Degree standard preferred and hold an industry qualification (e.g. Investment Operations Certificate) whilst being prepared to gain further relevant qualifications.
- They must have practical experience of conducting technical analysis, interpreting regulations and both participating in and managing projects.
