Purpose of the post The Senior Programme Manager will be a key member of the Research Driver and Infrastructure Programme team at HDR UK. The post holder will provide senior management leadership and will have day to day responsibility for operational management of the Big Data for Complex Disease Driver Programme. The post holder will have responsibility as required for delivery and co-ordination of emerging integration projects across Drivers and Infrastructure Programmes. Responsibilities Lead on senior operational management of the Big Data for Complex Disease Driver Programme: Lead and oversee the day-to-day management of the Driver Programme nationally. Support the Programme senior leadership team in developing and delivering strategy for the Big Data for Complex Disease Driver Programme. Manage all recruitment for the Programme. Manage all reporting and governance for the Programme. Lead on budgetary and financial management of the Programme. Build and maintain relationships with a range of external partners and stakeholders. Lead on the management of the UK-wide Programme consortia. Oversight of PPIE in the Programme, working closely with HDR UK PPIE team, and HDR UK and BHF DSC Public Advisory Groups. Represent the Programme at conferences and meetings. Identify opportunities to communicate milestones, deliverables and impact of Programme activities. Line management of the Driver Programme project manager. Lead on delivery of emerging integration projects across wider Driver and Infrastructure Programmes: Support on enabling collaborative and integration opportunities across other Programmes. Identify key team members and stakeholders to help drive delivery and strategy of integration projects. Lead on identifying and supporting leveraged funding opportunities for integration activity not funded by core funding. Contribute to reporting of progress and priorities of integration activities. Support the management of the integration project groups and meetings. Oversight of PPIE in the integration projects, where appropriate. Person Specification: Proven experience managing large-scale, UK-wide research programmes. Proven experience working in the health data ecosystem in the UK. Understanding of health data information governance, security and privacy requirements. Understanding of the types of research that can be enabled by access to, and advanced analysis of, health data at scale. Experience understanding the needs of, and presenting complex information to, different audiences. Ability to manage complex multi-stakeholder projects in parallel with similar timeframes and conflicting priorities whilst meeting deadlines. Experience navigating ambiguity, championing change and providing clarity, with the ability to bring simplicity to complex processes. Experience building collaborative teams across multiple organisations. Proactive approach and expertise in developing creative solutions to problems. Experience with financial management and an understanding of the impact of financial flows for public sector projects. Knowledge of a range of project management tools and demonstrable project management experience. Ability to work accurately with attention to detail. Excellent people skills and ability to handle sensitive issues positively. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to see the broader perspective and how it affects the programme.
