This is an opportunity for an architect or Project Manager to start in a newly created team working under the director of healthcare and the design of a major prestigious NHS project.
You will create best practices across this healthcare project which is complex and community and end-user-focused schemes with a build value of upwards of £50-100 million. The practice already has processes and systems in place, the project management team is responsible for project performance, communication and financial accountability of the project.
This role best suits an architect who is a Project Manager or architect who wants to move away from the traditional path of architecture and enjoys working on public sector projects. This role focuses on the project's planning, finances, resources, budgeting and contractural part. There is no design required in this role however you will be working side by side with the design team and design partner in charge. It is an opportunity to carve out your skill set in process, communications, and facilitation ensuring projects are profitable and successful and teams work sensible hours. Architects and Project Managers who have strong business acumen and are process-led and methodical with extensive communication skills would suit this role.
Responsibilities
- Supporting the design team to ensure projects are profitable
- Written and verbal communicative skills internal and external are crucial for the success of the role and the project.
- Supporting project teams to ensure proper resourcing
- Client contract throughout the full project life cycle
- Create a scope of works based on internal processes
- Highlighting project issues and solving
- Contractual project responsibility
- Making sure the team are settled, happy and motivated in the work they are doing
- QA/QC throughout the project
- Oversee all other administrative tasks for the project that do not include design.
Experience & skills
- Part II or qualified architect
- Experience in healthcare or major public projects (over £100million)
- Knowledge and understanding of Revit, AutoCAD
- Experience and knowledge of the design process able to follow and track projects throughout all RIBA stages
- Experience working with consultant teams
- Experience and knowledge of building regulations
- Experience reviewing contracts
- Knowledge of project planning, budgeting, resource planning or allocation, financial implications
- Excellent communication skills presenting to external or internal teams
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Proactive attitude, strong planning and organisational skills

Hours: Mon-Fri 9.30am - 6pm
Office policy: this role is hybrid working 3 days office, 2 days wfh.

The salary will be commensurate with your level of experience and there is a yearly bonus.
