Our client is a leading global SaaS commerce platform that uses predictive intelligence to help brands anticipate, activate and automate their next best action to fuel profitable growth are looking for a Senior Project Managerto join our team. You will be the technical lead for their customers to ensure they achieve their goals with the software. You will also be the direct report for 4 other Project Managers.
Overview
The Senior Deployment Manager role is responsible for the management and successful delivery of a number of medium to large strategic and / or enterprise projects undertaken by our customers, in a manner which meets the customer’s objectives and contributes to their business case.
This role can manage a team of Project Managers, and is accountable to the companies clients for the duration of new deployments and upgrade of all existing solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Deployment management from start-up to close-out
- Direct and manage day-to-day activities of a Deployment Manager team, and manage specific projects directly to ensure a successful outcome for internal and external customers
- Manage new client implementations, from client input gathering, requirements specification, development through to delivery
- Ensure all team members successfully prepare all requirements documentation in accordance with agreed team procedures
- Provide advice in respect of specifications, cost, timings and implementation of customer solutions
- Works autonomously and uses own initiative to attain objectives and overcome challenges, both individually and for their sub-team Deployment organisation, planning and monitoring
- Produce timing plans in conjunction with resourcing managers and other key stakeholder
- Ensure timely planning & proactive updates of all projects in the deployment Pipeline, both individually and for their sub-team
- Monitor and track the progress of assigned setups against the planned time and cost, both individually and for their sub-team
- Proactively update and advise all stakeholders of project status
- Ensure all team members continuously follow the Deployment Team’s best practices
- Provide effective coaching and counselling to other team members
- Assist with RFPs, SOWs and contract reviews Risks and issue management
- Analyse risks and issues, communicate avoidance and take mitigating actions, and support their sub-team in such instances
- Identify risks and issues which can impact the wider team, and take action to find resolutions that solve the longer-term issue
Change control
- Highlight and help to resolve any deviations from the agreed scope
- Manage the change control process for implementations
- Guide other team members on how to manage change requests
Process improvement and value-added services
- Initiates and implements best practice and continuous improvement within the Deployment & Operations and other teams
- Act as the main point of contact for strategic initiatives
- Help with new colleague onboarding
Education & Experience
- Proven track record in project management and delivering complex IT projects or programmes
- Formal Project Management methods
- Sound understanding of eCommerce, eBusiness tools, architecture, document management and database management
Skills & Abilities
- Microsoft Project, Excel and Word at intermediate level
- Excellent organisational skills, decision-making, problem-solving and negotiation skills
