One of the oldest and most respected Property Consultants in Shropshire immediately requires a Senior Planning Consultant with at least 4 years experience to join the expanding Planning Department based in Shrewsbury on a full-time basis.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of our wide-ranging consultancy services across the residential, commercial, leisure and agricultural sectors, involving the preparation, submission and management of planning applications, planning appeals and working with clients in land promotion and strategic land allocation across the Midlands.
Applicants should:
- Have a relevant degree in planning with applied knowledge of the planning and development process; ideally holding or working towards chartered membership of the RTPI.
- Have a proven track record in submitting or determining planning applications, working with technical specialists, and positively engaging with stakeholders.
- Have excellent written and oral communication skills, be able to manage your own workload and work successfully as part of a team.
The role:
- You will work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team preparing evidence to support development proposal and submitting planning applications for a range of different types and sizes of schemes. This will include liaising with technical specialists, and representing clients at committee, appeal hearing and local plan examinations. You would be responsible for helping our clients, many of whom are other local businesses, to navigate the planning system to achieve successful outcomes.

About you:
Do you have a passion for good planning and want to play in integral role in a wide range of exciting projects?
- We are looking for someone with a strong background in town planning, an RTPI accredited degree and ideally looking for chartered membership of the RTPI.
- We pride ourselves on having excellent working relationships with clients, local authorities and other consultants - being personable and enthusiastic is important.
- You must have excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and be a committed and adaptable worker, able to manager your own time as well as work as part of a team.
