The client we are working with is a leading organization in the field of genomics, dedicated to harnessing the power of genomics to revolutionize various aspects of human health and our global environment. Their innovative platform technology streamlines genomic data, providing decision-makers with precise and expedited information, reducing complexity, and enhancing accuracy.
They are looking for a qualified Senior Scientistwith expertise in Molecular Biology to join the Product Development team to support with the development of molecular diagnostic assays. This role will be primarily lab based with strong emphasis on IVD Product Development. The role would report to the Director of Technology Development.
The successful candidate will have a strong background and working experience in Molecular Biology. Extensive experience with assay optimisation and validation and optimisation of assays detecting DNA & RNA target of interest is critical to this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Independent development and iterative experimentation to drive improvement of assays for clinical diagnostic testing
- Validation of novel assays and reagents for clinical diagnostic testing
- Independent analysis and interpretation of data and results, drawing out of conclusions and strategic recommendations
- Interaction with team members in a multidisciplinary environment to ensure communication of project-relevant progress
- Development and validation of QC assays for reagents
- Writing SOPs, reports and safety documentation
- Giving advice and training others to perform validated assays
- Detailed data recording under ISO 13485 standard
- Presenting results to the team
- Leading projects involving additional team members
- Supervising and training responsibility for more junior members of the team
- Potential line management responsibility
- Strong background in Molecular Biology
- Experience with assay optimisation and validation
- Experience with optimisation of assays detecting DNA and RNA target of interested
- Highly motivated, team-oriented individual with strong attention to detail
- Demonstrate strong relationship building with colleagues across the organisation
- Ability to multi-task and problem-solve using novel approaches with a positive approach
- Experience with diagnostic validation and verification trials
- Experience in biotechnology method development
- Familiar with IVD regulatory requirements
- Experience in the following areas: Writing of SOPs & IFUs, Quality management systems, Reagent manufacturing & quality control
