Job description

This role has a starting salary of £27,897 per annum, based on a 36-hour working week. The average week is 36 hours spread over 5 days and made up of a variety of shifts to support our 24-hour service at Rodney Place. We are happy to provide examples of shifts we require.

We are excited to be hiring a new Senior Support Worker to join our fantastic Rodney team based in Walton On Thames. We are incredibly proud of our fantastic Adult Supported Living homes which provide quality service to those with learning difficulties.

We support people with daily living tasks and personal care, and help enable access to leisure pursuits, education, skills development, and social networks within the local community, using a person-centred approach. About the Role

In this role you will support the team to deliver a front-line, person-centred care service. You will work with the management team to ensure that high quality care is delivered in accordance with Care Quality Commission standards and current legislation.

In this role you will have the opportunity to:

  • Assist the management team in the delivery of front-line care services
  • Manage day-to-day activities of a small team in separate units / houses
  • Undertake assessments, implement support plans, maintain records & develop individual programmes
  • Support individuals with day-to-day living, including accessing community, domestic chores, personal care and medication
  • Assist in review of quality of care
  • Liaise with carers, relatives, colleagues and other agencies.
  • Motivate and mentor the team around you

Please note that this role involves shift work and working alternative weekends.

Shortlisting Criteria

To be considered for shortlisting for this position, your application will clearly evidence the following:

  • Significant experience within a social service, supported living, or health setting
  • Knowledge of current legislation and standards in relation to the service
  • Understanding of the needs and aspirations of adults with learning difficulties who may have additional physical or sensory disabilities or mental health needs
  • The ability to communicate with people with physical, cognitive, or learning difficulties
  • Experience of working as part of a team and an understanding of how to develop and motivate colleagues
  • An enhanced DBS 'Disclosure and Barring Service' check for regulated activity (formerly known as CRB) and the Children's and Adults' Barred List checks will be required for this role.
