Key Responsibilities:

Our client are seeking to recruit a passionate and experienced Senior Sustainability Manager to join their group function. In this pivotal role, you'll spearhead the development and execution of the environmental sustainability strategy, working closely with internal stakeholders to integrate sustainability considerations into business processes. From reducing carbon emissions and energy intensity to supporting biodiversity projects, you'll have a hands-on role in shaping their environmental agenda.

With opportunities for leadership, strategic input, and collaboration with diverse stakeholders, this role offers the chance to make a tangible impact in driving sustainability initiatives within the food industry.

The Person:

This role will report to the Head of Sustainability and will manage and develop a small group of sustainability experts. Our client is driven by ambitious objectives in both the short and long term, therefore they are in search of an individual who can match their momentum with their own personal drive and enthusiasm.

The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, approachability, diligence, and an exceptional attention to detail. Given the significant emphasis on coaching and mentoring the team, success in this role will be measured by the development and stability of the team. Adaptability is key, as the role requires both strategic thinking and a willingness to dive into tasks hands-on when necessary. A collaborative mindset is essential, and candidates should demonstrate a desire for career advancement.

Required skills and qualifications:

• Degree level qualification - ideally within a sustainability (not essential)
• Minimum 3 years' experience in the sustainability space with in depth knowledge of environmental sustainability issues
• Effective communicator across all levels from c-suite to shop floor
• Experience in mentoring/coaching small teams

Details:

• Office based with travel nationwide
• Base location flexible in either South Yorkshire or East Yorkshire
• Up to £70,000+ package and benefits
