We act as a voice for the independent advice sector and offer a range of award-winning training schemes and campaigns to improve the lives of people in Northern Ireland.
We are now seeking a Service Adviser (Welfare Reform) to join us on a full-time basis for a one year fixed term contract until the 1st March 2025.
Please note, this is a full-time role working 35 hours per week but additional hours may be necessary to meet the requirements of the post including, on occasion, working evenings and weekends.

The Role
As a Service Adviser (Welfare Reform), you will provide a range of specialist independent advice and expertise concerning welfare to members of the public via our telephone service.
Enabling clients to make informed decisions, you’ll provide, clear user-friendly advice on Universal Credit, PIP, supplementary payments and under/over payments of benefits.
You’ll signpost callers to the appropriate support and assist them with completing applications online or preparing for interviews, whilst maintaining accurate case records.
Additionally, you will:
- Monitor feedback
- Provide digital support
- Support with preparing and updating a range of resources
- Process external referrals
About You
To be considered as a Service Adviser (Welfare Reform), you will need:
- Experience (paid or unpaid) providing welfare rights advice face to face or over the phone
- The ability to understand complex information and legislation
- A sympathetic and non-judgemental attitude
- To have completed Adviser NI, Law Centre (WRAP), NIACAB (ATP) or Wiseradviser training (or relevant equivalent) or be willing to complete this training
We will also consider other services experience.
