As a Service Charge Accountant, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance within our Service Charge processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Service Charge Management: Take ownership of Service Charge management for an assigned portfolio of assets, establishing close working relationships with various stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of all matters impacting Service Charge management.
- Budgeting and Reconciliation: Participate in budget and reconciliation processes, initiating production of templates and backup data for each workstream to maintain accuracy and transparency.
- Expense Monitoring: Undertake regular reviews of expenditure to ensure accuracy of postings, conducting interim reconciliations and providing insightful reports to enhance business processes.
- Performance Reporting: Provide performance reports and insights for your portfolio to assist with property management strategy and overall portfolio governance.
- Operational Efficiency: Assist with ongoing reviews and processes to drive operational efficiency and accuracy, ensuring compliance with RICS SC Code & Professional Statement requirements.
Requirements:
- You’ll have experience in Service Charge accountancy or advisory position, with knowledge of commercial and residential property types.
- Proficiency in MRI Horizon property management databases or equivalent, experience with reconciliation tools such as Blackline desirable.
- Well-versed in RICS SC Code & Professional Statement requirements, with the ability to comprehend lease provisions for services and provide reasoned recommendations.
- Demonstrated ability to provide Service Charge analytics and reporting, with attention to detail and accuracy.
