THALES are looking to recruit a passionate & driven Service Delivery Managerto be responsible for co-coordinating the delivery of services and Programmes into key customers. This ranges from spares and repairs to the provision of a capability and Services. The SDM plays a vital role in maintaining long-term service provider- customer relationship, acting as the bridge between the client and our operational delivery teams for our Bids and Projects Division.

What will you deliver?
  • Bids and Project Management within the Services and Support Sector, harmonising the Customer and Product support functions for both large and small scale demands working within a small team environment
  • Define the Service or Support solutions in accordance with customer requirements. Prepare price and proposal documentation and deliver proposals through the Thales gating process
  • For nominated projects, plan, set up, organize, document, execute and conclude in accordance with approved Thales governance processes, procedures, methods and tools. This includes delivering the order intake, sales and profit margins required of the business
  • Lead the collaborative, dynamic planning process - prioritising the work that needs to be done against the capacity and capability of the functional teams. This is to be completed in accordance with the Thales Integrated Business Planning process and will involve investigating workload anomalies where required.
  • Manage sub-contractors and suppliers in their deliveries against targets
  • Have an understanding of the Integrated Logistic Support function in order to ensure that all customer feedback is used to optimise all product articles and services, ensure that FRACAS is fully embedded in your support and service contracts in order to provide trend analysis and spot possible new business opportunities.
  • Build personal relationships with key customers and staff
  • Achieve successful Service Delivery - SLA achievement and high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Achieve key results and performance metrics for your area of responsibility
  • Monitor overall performance of services, identifying areas for service expansion or product enhancement
  • Ensure good communication around issues and opportunities - getting things done, making things happen
  • Identify and develop opportunities for future growth and order intake.
  • Identify and execute measures which will increase productivity, reliability, and capability.

Who are we looking for?
  • Solid Project Management / Project Delivery skills are essential
  • Experience of working in a Support and/or service environment is highly desirable
  • Experience of working with defence organisations or military customers would be advantageous
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with people at all levels
  • Ability to work well within a team environment and across international borders
  • Experience in delivering competitive bids and projects in short timescales
  • Broad commercial and financial awareness
  • Able to operate effectively under project constraints and pressure and able to display sound judgement at all times
  • Strong customer focus with the ability to build relationships
  • Able to use initiative to solve problems as they arise and make difficult decisions when necessary
  • Degree level qualification or equivalent in a technical or business subject
  • A programme management qualification or equivalent would be advantageous
  • Flexible and realistic, able to self-prioritise and maintain awareness of deadlines
  • Able to cope with changing and short term demands
