Service ManagerLearning Disabilities and Transitions
Managing our Learning Disability, Transitions and Achieving Change Together Teams you will be leading social care assessment teams who support young people and adults with complex needs. Working closely with colleagues in children’s services, you will be the lead adult social care manager supporting preparation for adulthood. You will have an excellent working understanding of the challenges associated with supporting people with complex Learning Disabilities in the community, and to leave hospital, whilst being passionate and innovative about the potential person centred solutions.
For both posts we are looking for an experienced social work manager, with a track record in managing high performing teams. You will have a sound knowledge of the Care Act and all relevant legislation, be skilled in working with partner organisations and committed to working in collaboration. You will be driven to achieve the best outcomes for the people we support, and to enabling people to live independent and thriving lives.
And finally….
The successful candidates will be responsible for the operational management of the staff, budget and activities within Adult Social care to ensure it meets its service and financial objectives.
You will be expected to demonstrate you have strong leadership qualities within a complex organisational environment and an excellent understanding of health and social care systems, adults’ legislation, practice and procedures and safeguarding and regulatory frameworks.
As a member of the Adults senior management team you will be responsible for the development of strategies, policies and plans to achieve better outcomes for users and carers and you will therefore require extensive management experience within a social care or related service and working closely with partners and other statutory and voluntary agencies. Experience of strategic and project planning, change and performance management, financial competence and management and monitoring of budgets ae also essential for the role.
You will be required to be part of the out of hours senior management rota to give management oversight and advice on critical decisions and make immediate safeguarding decision to the Council’s out of hours service (Emergency Duty Team) on behalf of children and adult services.
It is essential that you are a qualified social worker and are registered with Social Work England and hold a management qualification and/or have significant management experience.
