We're currently recruiting for a Service Manager on behalf of our client who are a national charity supporting service users who are in crisis and facing unexpected life events. This position will be responsible for maintaining some cases whilst managing a small and dispersed team of caseworkers who work across the UK remotely.
Key Details:
Location: Home-based with some travel.
Salary: Circa £40,000pa.
Contract: Permanent 37.5 hrs per week, flexibility available.
Annual Leave: 25 Days initially, growing with length of service.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure appropriate L&D plans are in place for all team members and check progress against these plans.
- Shortlist, interview and appoint caseworkers as and when required.
- Manage a dispersed team of caseworkers, providing support where necessary and ensuring a culture of effective teamwork.
- Facilitate regular one-to-ones and team meetings, encouraging team members to share good practice and success.
- Ensure services are managed effectively and compliant with all regulatory requirements.
- Alongside the Head of Service, prepare relevant reports for the Executive team and Board.
- Advocate and promote the services of the organisation in events and with partners.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years' experience within a support service environment delivering advice to service users.
- Good experience working with families with complex needs.
- Strong understanding of one or more of the following areas: health & social care, housing, welfare benefits and similar.
- Experience of managing and motivating a diverse and remote team.
- Strong experience of managing caseloads and ensuring delivery against targets.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Software packages
