Job Description:
The ServiceNow Developer is responsible for designing and developing/implementing ServiceNow’s solutions and providing technical & architectural guidance to high-performing peers. This role will work with the IT Service Management/GRC leadership, IT service/GRC owners, process owners, and various service delivery groups to develop technical solutions that satisfy the business needs of the bank to a high quality.
Job Role and Responsibilities:
• The ServiceNow Developer is responsible for creating prototypes, designing, and building modules and solutions for Brokerage Services in an iterative agile cycle, develop, maintain, and optimize the business outcome.
• Troubleshoot bugs, fix defects, and support users of applications developed by the enterprise application development team.
• Perform code reviews to ensure that the quality bar is being met with regard to coding standards, integration, extensibility, and security.
• Assist in maintaining detailed documentation of application design and code generation techniques used to train other developers on ServiceNow system software.
• Develop enhancements for applications developed by the enterprise application development team.
• Performing peer reviews, collaborating with architects and other developers to produce “just enough” design, and ensuring that enough technical documentation and training is provided for reference and operational support.
• Providing software-related operations support, including managing level two and level three incident and problem management.
• Estimating user and technical stories, designing, and developing code, writing and executing unit and integration tests, and supporting testing of deliverables against user and technical story acceptance tests.
Skills Required:
• Must have 6+ Years of ServiceNow developer experience.
• Bachelor’s degree as a minimum.
• Strong knowledge of Automated Test framework.
• Experience of Kingston and higher versions of the platform.
• Strong knowledge of the ServiceNow Service Portal application.
• Able to demonstrate knowledge of the platform mechanics and best practices.
• Good knowledge of scoped application development and domain separation.
• Good knowledge of Edge encryption and CMDB.
• Exposure to some of the key modules in ServiceNow (CMDB, Discovery, Incident/Problem/Change).
• Conduct workshops for clients, implement and support ServiceNow GRC.
• Demonstratable experience in technical concepts of ServiceNow (web services and APIs, Javascript, workflow configuration).
• Experience with Web Technologies (XML, HTML, JavaScript, Web Services).
• Ability to communicate with stakeholders.
• Good decision and problem-solving skills.
• Estimate user and technical stories to help inform and prioritize backlog and design modules according to user stories, UX/UI designs, and technical stories.
• Develop solutions according to module designs and deploy using delivery pipeline.
• Develop and execute unit and integration tests, support testing against user and technical story acceptance tests.
• Suggest improvements to user stories and UX/UI.
• Agile and lean programming and development of software systems in Web-scale environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn new methods and processes.
• Strong relationship building, persuasion, and collaboration skills that drives internal- and cross-team constructive feedback and support.
• Knowledge of jQuery, Jelly, Angular and other web technologies.
• JavaScript development independent of and within the ServiceNow framework.
• Strong teamwork, self-managing and self-initiative, coaching, collaboration & communication skills.
• Aptitude and drive to pick-up new technologies that suit our business.
• Experience in REST API Development.
• Strong experience in agile development.
