You will be part of a team of 3 staff delivering the existing SC4A programme of activity, as well as helping to continue developing our popular open cycling sessions and other elements of the programme. The team have a flat management structure with everyone contributing at some level to most tasks, but with each also focusing on different areas. Whilst there is therefore a lot of cross-over working, this post will lead on the following areas;
• Developing our Cycle Loan scheme, administration, and development
• Community outreach, engaging cyclists, partners and networking
• Working alongside cyclists influence policy and decision makers, represent SC4A on different bodies and look to develop our consultation work
• Marketing and Communications, including management of the SC4A website and social media
• Representing the SC4A team at internal Disability Sheffield meetings
The job is incredibly varied, so you will need to be a good all-rounder and a creative thinker to address all the things that come your way. But don’t worry, you are part of a wider team and a host of volunteers who directly support the project, and you are also part of a larger organisation, Disability Sheffield.
A lot of the work is outdoors in Sheffield’s lovely Hillsborough Park. People come to our sessions even if the weather is bad so expect to work in the cold and wet sometimes. We also attend occasional evening meetings which are all part of the role.
