Job description
- Responsible for leading, encouraging, motivating and training personnel within sphere of responsibility to deliver excellent performance which maximize warehouse efficiency. To develop and create an empowered workforce who actively identify improvement ideas.
- To maintain in conjunction with the Logistics Manager UK & ROI collaborative relationships with key internal and external customers (Transport Manager / Customer Operations Manager / Customer Collaboration Manager / VAS Manager / Demand and Supply Manager / Retailers / Logistic Service Providers) to support the identification of mutually beneficial improvement initiatives,-which will result in warehouse operations being maximized and will ensure customer orders are being delivered in a timely cost effective manner.
- The incumbent will manage all warehouse activities (across 3 shifts) to ensure all customer orders are available to dispatch on time by ensuring the appropriate deployment of resources (People, Time and Equipment) to achieve on time in full delivery to our customers. To deliver this, the operations manager will be required through SAP WM to manage the hour by hour, day to day activities within the Warehouse Operations across a 24 hour shift pattern from Monday 6am to Saturday 2pm in line with business requirements.
- Responsibility for ensuring quality of presentation is never compromised to our customers.
- The incumbent will manage all inbound deliveries to ensure all inbound stock is booked in safely, efficiently, and accurately by ensuring the appropriate deployment of resources, ensuring that all stock is receive, putaway and available within 8 hrs of receipt. To deliver this, the Operations Manager will be required through SAP WM and Transporeoon to manage the hour by hour, day to day activities within the Warehouse Operations across a 24 hour shift pattern from Monday 6am to Saturday 2pm in line with business requirements
- Management of the booking in of inbound delivery stock using the available daily inbound delivery information, whilst prioritizing any low stocks in liaison with the Supply Planning team to guarantee available resources to ensure that all stock is booked in within 24 hours.
- Support and lead projects for the development of warehouse processes and systems. To help increase performance and efficiency within the UK warehouse. This includes supporting the identification of improvements to the UK Distribution Center continually optimizing efficiencies.
- Responsible for maintaining the effective deployment of resources at all times to ensure all warehouses operational costs (overtime and temporary labour costs) are optimized and in line with the relevant allocated resource budget.
- Responsible for developing, and implementing resource plans, on a weekly / monthly basis which ensures the Distribution Centre operation is run in an efficient and cost effective manner.
- The Holford Way site is an Upper Tier COMAH Operator (The Control of Major Accident Hazard Regulations 2015). Leadership and supervision is crucial to ensuring safety at the site. Proactive Leadership inspections need to be completed, along with the positive enforcement of rules and safe working practices across the site. Management of task related training is crucial, in addition to the close working relationship with the SHE & Facilities Team.
- The incumbent will be a nominated Key holder for the Holford site and undertake all responsibilities appertaining to this including site security, call out, safety and any contractor support required.
Request
- Experience in shift or operations warehouse management
- Able to multitask with strong organisation skills.
- Proactive with identifying problems, finding root causes, and providing solutions.
- Profound understanding of Supply Chain and Logistics related processes and principles.
- Qualification in Safety and Health, minimum IOSH or preferred NEBOSH General Certificate.
- Experienced in leading others with the capability to inspire.
- A “can do” attitude, high degree of self-motivation, initiative, thinking ahead and driving results, leads by example.
- Good ability to communicate with a wide range of personalities.
- An analytical mind with high level of attention to detail, accuracy as well as ability to prioritize.
- Computer literate i.e. proficient in Microsoft office (Excel, Word, Power point).
- Experience in use of WM solutions, SAP WM preferred
- Good knowledge of Lean Management principles
- Experience within a COMAH warehouse, if possible, if not COMAH related training must be given to candidate, as per Management of Organisational Change.
