My client is a leading company specialising in a comprehensive range of logistics services to and from Ireland, the UK and continental Europe. Due to continued growth, they are currently seeking an experienced Shipping Administrator to join their team.
This is a Full-Time, Fixed Term Contract to cover Maternity for initially 10-12 months.
Working hours: 8.30am – 4.30pm (must be flexible)
With a salary of £23,000 per annum (dependent on experience).
Essential Criteria:
• Previous and demonstrable experience within a similar role.
• Brief knowledge of imports and exports in a shipping environment.
• Proficient in the use of IT packages to include Microsoft Office especially Excel and Outlook.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal – with the ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
• Good telephone/email manner to deal with customers, drivers, internal staff and terminal/depot staff.
• Ability to manage and prioritise a busy workload.
• Ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work outside of normal hours during the week, weekends and Bank Holidays.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
• Booking collections and deliveries with customers on a daily basis.
• Communicating with hauliers on a daily basis.
• Administrating paperwork and p.o.d’s.
• Registering and updating vessels on various websites on a 24hr basis.
• Communicating with vessels by mobile and email on a 24hr basis.
• Creating and updating all bookings in Saturn system from/to all company agents/offices.
• Allocating bookings to vessels.
• Notifying customers of arrivals and departures.
• The preparation of load lists for terminals.
• Updating export customs on the website.
• Answering telephones/emails from customers and agents and dealing with any queries.
• Multi-tasking and prioritising daily work schedules including filing.
• Prepare reports for various contacts.
