About the role

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, worked 5 out of 7 days to include weekends and bank holidays.

Our Retail outlets provide 29% of much needed income to the hospice. This is vital to be able to provide the much-needed care to the people of Derbyshire. The hospice has 19 retail shops,1 furniture warehouse a Donation centre, Clearance shop and 2 Coffee shops! We also have an online eBay/Amazon platform and an online furniture store, It’s a big operation! We are looking for a Shop Manager to join our Dronfield Shop Team.

The Dronfield Shop Manager will be responsible for all aspects of managing the shop situated at The Forge Dronfield. The role will involve managing staff, stock management, preparing products as well as the training of staff and volunteers.

This job role is hard work, enormous fun, hugely satisfying and very fascinating. The main responsibilities include:

  • Leading and managing a team.
  • Ensure the highest standards of customer care are always adhered to
  • Create a positive customer experience
  • Promote Ashgate Hospice in the local community
  • Raise money through your Coffee shop to support the hospice

About you:

You will be an integral member of the Dronfield Shop Team at The Forge in Dronfield, leading and managing a team. You will be responsible for ensuring the shop is safe, clean and well presented, making sure our customers have a great experience.

You will have great leadership skills and previous experience within a busy, customer focussed role but most importantly a determination to create a customer experience that connects our loyal customers to our brand and charity.

Skills and experience required:

  • Leadership skills
  • Motivation and influencing skills
  • Effective communication and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of cash handling/Banking protocol
  • Knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety policy.
  • Knowledge of the charity sector would be an advantage.
