We are looking for a passionate Simulation Development Engineer to join our expanding team to deliver continuous improvement of vehicle models and simulation tools.
This role would be ideal for an exceptional candidate who has good experience of C/C++ programming. The successful candidate will develop and maintain vehicle models and/or lap simulation tools within the scope of the Vehicle Dynamics Group.
As a Simulation Development Engineer, you will contribute to the team’s success by:
Developing state-of-the-art models and simulations that are easy to use, modify and maintain.
Integrating those tools with the wider software, data-handling, and visualisation infrastructure.
Supporting use of the tools for analysis, development, and optimisation of the F1 cars’ performance.
Helping to define the Vehicle Dynamics technology development strategy.
As a Simulation Development Engineer, you will have:
Excellent technical ability, with a strong degree in engineering, computing, software, maths, physics, or a related discipline.
Great organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and deliver to agreed deadlines.
Self-motivation, innovative ideas and will enjoy new challenges/problem-solving tasks.
A collaborative attitude with good teamworking ability.
Commitment to continuous improvement.
Experience of C/C++ programming
Our ideal candidate will also have experience in some of the following:
Development of models, simulations, and optimisation tools.
Optimal control
Automatic differentiation
Matrix maths / linear algebra
Experience with numerical algorithms of any kind – e.g., interpolation, root-finding, non-linear solvers, Monte Carlo simulation, ODE solvers.
C++17
C++ templating
Cross-platform development (Linux & Windows)
Performance optimisation of code/algorithms
