SalaryZenith People are working with our client who are a High-Volume Manufacturer based in here in the North East and are looking to recruit an experienced Site Service Engineer on a permanent basis. Managing a small team of Maintenance Tradespeople and reporting to the Engineering Manager you will be responsible for all Site Services and ensuring that the following is carried out in a professional and timely manner.
The role responsibilities:
- To develop the services department
- Responsible for the management of visitors and service providers. ( Refrigeration, NWL etc)
- Responsible for engineering permits to works including contractor control and monitoring
- Support the Engineering manager by developing and ensuring compliance to engineering quality and safety standards.
- Ensure Site Services are cost effective whilst identifying opportunities to improve through capital investment.
- Participate and Communicate in detail with all teams at weekly meetings.
- To ensure PPM’s are completed to a high standard utilising the Shire system for accurate planning and tracking.
- Work Completion – completion of Reports for all work completed for yourself and direct reports.
- Take ownership of countermeasures that have been identified, plan and implement accordingly.
- Ensure Site Services engineers undertake regular plant room walks, visual checks across all areas entering remedial works in the system or Tracker.
- Carry out performance reviews for team members
- Ensure that all relevant information is filled in on the shift handover and that a suitable handover takes place between teams.
- Tool Box Audits: Take ownership and responsibility for tool box audits and compliance to customer audit standards.
- Work Completion – completion of Piranha Reports for all work completed for yourself and direct reports.
- Assist with the training and development of others where appropriate.
- Positive attitude through the team and positive behaviours.
- Empower engineers to enjoy a sense of progress at work contributes to their inner drive.

- Experience working in a fast paced environment.
- Adaptable to Change
- Working knowledge of the maintenance of refrigeration systems and plant rooms.
- Steam and condensate boilers, pressure vessels , written schemes and compliance
- Local authority compliance of domestic hot and cold water systems.
- Compressed air generation.
- Fire alarm and emergency light testing.
- Ventilation and Extraction systems.
- Legionella Awareness
- Ammonia Refrigeration Systems
- Piranha or Shire Maintenance System
- Fixed Wire Installation
- Pat Testing
- CHP plant
- Gas Safe Certificate
- CHP/ GAS Generation
- DSEAR
- HNC or Higher
- Advanced HSE Qualification
- FGAS
- Advanced Food Safety
- ILM
- Continuous improvement methodology
- HNC , ONC or equivalent
- IT Literate
