An opportunity has become available within the Adult Social Care Directorate for the position of Social Care Team Manager on a permanent basis. We are seeking to appoint a Team Manager who is highly motivated and committed to delivering a service that is focused on the customer and promoting independence.
The Enquiry Team provides advice, guidance and support for adult Social Care needs. Offering advice, information and helping people to access the services they need including equipment to support them in their home, Blue Badges, Telecare etc. Focused on maximising independence and liaising/referring to other services within Sandwell Council or other agencies/providers.
The ideal candidate will provide supervision, leadership, advice and guidance to professional and experienced staff in the service. You will need to have a sound understanding of working with complex disabilities and have skills and knowledge specific to aids, adaptations, sensory impairments and moving and handling.
Key deliverable areas for this post are
Key expert for enquiry service and development across the borough. Operational lead for enquiry work and development. Lead and drive the operational implementation of national and local strategic objective of the enquiry service work and development.
Responsibility for the development and maintenance of enquiry service work and development systems which demonstrate adherence to legislative, national and corporate and requirements, performance and finance.
Accountable for ensuring an effective operating model in delivering enquiry service work and development service to vulnerable adults. Create and drive the work of enquiry work and development through multi agency partnerships and liaising with Senior Managers as required.
Develop, implement and review information systems for the planning, commissioning and monitoring the activities of enquiry service work and development service for vulnerable adults.
You need experience and knowledge of relevant legislation with the ability to work with vulnerable adults in a health and Social Care setting.
Opportunities to develop your skills and knowledge are available, and the attendance of training courses & skill sharing with colleagues is encouraged. The service operates from 9am till 5.30pm Mondays to Thursdays and 9am till 5pm on Fridays.
