This Social Media Specialist will report to the Digital Communications Manager and will work within the Human Resources directorate based in our London office. You will be a permanent employee.
You will attract a salary of £40,000.00 and a bonus of 7.5%. This role can also offer blended working after probationary period (6 months) - 3 days in the office and 2 remote

Job purpose
UK Power Networks is looking for a motivated Social Media specialist to lead on the implementation of our digital and Social Media strategy.
Through this newly created role you'll help tell our story through compelling Social Media content to external audiences, boosting follower volumes and customer engagement. From the world's biggest commercial electric vehicle trial, to looking after people living in vulnerable customers during a power cut, every day is different. You could write a post about our work to support local school sports or coordinating films to be posted on Social Media following a national conference.
Principal responsibilities
- Create and publish and share daily content (original text, images, video or HTML) that builds meaningful connections with customers and important partners
- Optimise company pages within each platform to increase visibility of our social content and boost followers
- Build Social Media strategy - platform determination, benchmarking, messaging and audience identification
- Create weekly and monthly editorial schedules, including coverage of awareness days
- Collaborate with business leads to deliver attractive and informative campaigns
- Create engaging video and graphic content to suit channels
- Track the performance of customer engagement and topics via analytics, to optimise campaigns and continuously improve
- Establish networks of industry professionals/influencers on Social Media
- Monitor all Social Media content and moderate all user-generated content and resolve customer issues when needed
- Availability to manage response to occasional major incidents and storms when they occur
Skills
- Able distil main points into creatively compelling narratives that grab the audience's attention
- Strong written and verbal skills with excellent attention to detail
- Video editing, photographic and graphic design skills.
- Calm and resilient under pressure. At ease with deadlines and able to pivot to new priorities daily with ease.
Experience
- Two years' experience in a similar Social Media / digital role
- Experience creating and delivering high quality corporate Social Media content. You will be asked for examples of content, campaigns, and strategy at interview
- Excellent understanding and prior use of Social Media such as Twitter, facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, Instagram and SnapChat.
- Have an established like-minded network of Social Media professionals to call on to ensure the best adoption of latest tactics and techniques, staying up to date in a fast-changing world.
