Social Worker - Specialist Safeguarding

About the role:

This is an exciting opportunity for those who have an interest in adult safeguarding. The adult safeguarding team is a small county wide team. The role is within an adult safeguarding team, providing response to adult at risk reports through compliance with the Wales Safeguarding Procedures.

About you:

1. Understanding of the legal frameworks within adult social care in order to be able to effect protective responses to adult at risk reports.
2. The Ability to chair meeting effectively, posing skills in negotiation and influence.
3. Ability to communicate effectively, presenting complex information and managing conflict across professional and organisational boundaries.
4. Ability to engage with adults at risks and their representatives to explore their circumstances and the outcomes they wish to achieve.
5. You will need to be committed to ensuring individuals’ fundamental human rights are protected and promoted.
6. Ability to write S126 reports and care and support protection plans that incorporate analysis and risk reduction.

What you will do:

1. Undertaking of Section 126 enquiries and associated actions.
2. Undertaking the Safeguarding Lead Co-ordinator and  chairing adult safeguarding meetings.
3. Developing risk reduction strategies and care and support protection plans.
4. Developing support to operational teams and partners to explore adult at risk concerns and make professional judgements relating to risk.
5. Attending and represent Adult Services in multi-agency meetings such as MARAC, MAPPA and Problem Solving Groups
6. 6) Working with partner agencies such as health and social care, police and commissioning services.
