An exciting opportunity has become available with our prestigious client who is a prominent government department. The client is seeking an experienced Software Developer welcoming team.
This role is responsible for building, maintaining and supporting systems that provide data services for the transport industry. The team is DevOps working on AWS infrastructure and make extensive use of the serverless technologies AWS offer. CDK is heavily used and main language of choice is Python.
The Software Developer Role:
- Application development – Design, develop, test and document robust, maintainable & secure code using industry standard patterns as per features described on the backlog
- Build & Deployment – Write and maintain automation pipelines for managing CI/CD working environments
- Agile Delivery – Take an active role in agile ceremonies including scrums, sprint planning, refinement and retrospectives
- Mentoring – Mentor junior SOFTWARE DEVELOPERs within the tribe providing guidance through code reviews and pair programming
- Support – Take an active role in supporting the tribe’s technical estate during working hours.
The Software Developer Need:
- Experience developing / testing software using Python
- Experience with AWS: Lambda, StepFunctions, DynamoDB, S3, SNS, SQS, CloudWatch, APIGateway, RDS, CloudWatch)
- Experience building / deploying software into an AWS environment using CDK, codeBuild, codePipeline
- Experience with GitHub workflows
- Experience with Jenkins to drive CI/CD
- Agile SCRUM experience
- Ability to mentor and train junior developers
