Software Tester - Remote Working (must be Scotland based) - Up To 38k
Lorien is excited to be working alongside a rapidly growing established SAAS company who have been building their presence across Scotland and the rest of the world with significant investment behind them. They are looking for a talented individual who has a background as a Software Tester to join them on a permanent capacity.
The position is full time, Monday-Friday working hours from 8:30am to 5pm and based in Aberdeen operating on a hybrid working model.
Some of what you'll get Up To:
- Work closely with the development team and project manager to ensure product quality and reliability.
- Maintain, design, and execute automatic and manual tests on existing and new software.
- Incorporate both manual and automated (currently Cypress) testing methods to generate and manage test plans and associated assets, such as test data and essential components.
- Analyse functional requirements and user stories to establish acceptance criteria and formulate test plans for new development tasks, documenting them thoroughly.
- Incorporate user experience considerations into the testing process and recommend usability enhancements as needed.
- Conduct various levels of testing, including System, Integration, and Regression testing, and meticulously document and report test results, including identifying failure modes, untestable designs, and other issues.
- Proactively take charge of the testing process, consistently seeking opportunities to enhance testability and expand automated testing coverage.
- Propose and implement improvements in work methodologies.
- Identify and meticulously monitor software defects and inconsistencies, maintaining a Priority 1 defect release record to ensure the software remains highly available.
Requirements:
- Experience with scripting languages such as JavaScript or Python to create and maintain automated tests
- Familiarity with modern quality assurance and test management methods.
- Exposure to working in smaller teams or by yourself.
- Proficiency in using tools for executing and reporting automated tests.
- Understanding of secure software design principles.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Keen attention to detail, especially when dealing with numeric data.
- Effective teamwork skills, including active listening and supporting colleagues.
- Well-organised and disciplined work approach with excellent time management
- Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work well under pressure.
- Currently possesses the legal right to work independently in the UK.
