Job description
Up to £46,464 per annum
Chesterfield is a great place to live, work and play, with a proud heritage, significant ambitions for the future of its communities and the gateway town to the Peak District National Park. We are centrally located with excellent transport connectivity.
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive. We are in the enviable position of being able to offer a very diverse and interesting caseload, with the postholder primarily delivering priority regeneration schemes for Chesterfield including projects funded through Levelling Up Funding and Town Deal Monies. This will include preparation and progression of grant and loan documentation and related land transactions for the Council.
Sound commercial awareness, excellent communication skills, a dynamic and innovative approach to the delivery of a high-quality legal service combined with the ability to fit into a small and friendly team would be ideal qualities to successfully undertake this role. Candidates who have worked within the public sector or with developed relevant experience gained from working within private practice are encouraged to apply.
The council is an excellent employer with rewarding conditions of service which include generous leave entitlement and sick pay, flexible and agile working, progressive HR policies, access to the local government pension scheme, discounted leisure membership and car parking.
