Job Summary:
The Solutions Consultant (SC) will support the TouchNet sales team throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland. He or she will be required to be knowledgeable in a range of TouchNet solutions, both software and hardware products, in the university commerce space. The SC is responsible for providing technical subject matter expertise and thought leadership in a presales and post implementation capacity. He or she will work with Sales to facilitate discovery sessions, configure and deliver product demonstrations and proof of concepts, and be the technical expert during the sales cycle. The SC will work with customers post sales to liaise between the university and TouchNet’s implementation team and be a first line of contact for the customer. He or she may also assist with lead generation at trade conferences and other company sponsored events. The SC will also be a conduit of feedback from the prospects and customers back to the business development and product management organizations. The SC must be highly proficient in technical skills, critical thinking, communication, and presentation skills.
Major Job Duties/Responsibilities:
The Solutions Consultant will represent the TouchNet suite of products, with a heavy focus on e-commerce, in the following areas:
Sales
Work with campuses and/or Sales to discover technology stack utilized across campuses requiring payments and the integration needs/requirements based on the university resources and objectives
Present TouchNet campus solutions to the university and educate them on the benefits and integration requirements of each
Take ownership in gaining the technical win on the sales team
Collaborate with project stakeholders to define Statement of Work for implementation projects
Attend relevant industry user events and trade shows
Provide RFP subject matter expertise support as needed to the sales organization
Perform webinars and product demonstrations both virtually and in person on the university campus (when necessary)
Service
Provide on-campus walkthrough and site survey for access control and POS needs (when necessary)
Provide feedback to campus regarding best practices for TouchNet campus solutions
Help onboard new customers to seamlessly transition from sales to implementation
Technical liaison for implementation and customer project teams
Provide client feedback about the products and roadmap to the Product team as required and contribute ideas for new solutions
Provide feedback on existing product functionality – what works, what could be improved, where there are bugs
Qualifications/Educational Requirements:
3 - 5+ years relevant experience in University ITS and/or Campus Finance
Must be able to articulate value propositions and product positioning to both business and technical users
Strong knowledge UK/IE higher education technology space where commerce takes place
Knowledge of the campus ID card, ecommerce, or payment industry is desired
Working knowledge of Student Information Systems (Ellucian, Unit 4, Tribal, Peoplesoft, etc)
UCISA membership or affiliation helpful
Familiarity with Challenger Sales Methodology helpful
Must possess strong presentation skills and be able to communicate professionally verbally and in written format
Must be analytical, organized, and able to identify and eliminate sales obstacles to close new business
Well organized, with attention to detail and able to multitask
Strong PC skills
Must be able to travel regularly throughout the UK and Ireland as needed; some additional international travel as needed
Education and Background:
B.S. degree or relevant industry experience strongly preferred
Prefer work experience as a technical liaison between ITS and the finance office role at a University
Focused on achieving defined results, and exceeding goals and objectives.
Ability to work with a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
Enthusiasm and the ability to thrive in an atmosphere of constant change.
Excellent computer skills (Salesforce, Google G Suite, Microsoft Office, inclusive of Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
