Job Description:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Needs Teaching Assistant to work in Barnstaple with students who have complex needs and disabilities. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the educational and personal development of students, providing assistance to both teachers and pupils.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with complex needs and disabilities in their academic and personal growth.
- Work closely with teachers to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Provide one-on-one assistance to students as needed.
- Collaborate with other professionals, such as speech therapists and occupational therapists, to ensure holistic support.
- Monitor and record student progress, and communicate effectively with parents and caregivers.
Requirements:
- Experience working with students with complex needs and disabilities.
- Understanding of various special educational needs (SEN) and the ability to tailor support accordingly.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the unique needs of every student.
- Relevant qualifications or training in special education or a related field.
Salary and Benefits:
