Job Title: Special Process Engineer - Heat Treatment & Forming

Verus Recruitment Partners are pleased to be supporting a Sheffield-based leading international aerospace manufacturer in the Recruitment of a Heat treatment Engineer on a full-time, permanent basis due to continued growth and projects.
As my client's new heat treatment engineer, you will become a member of the Special Process team focused on the Heat Treatment and associated processes on site on site. The role will include providing technical support to the processes, generating technical documentation, and supporting investigations into manufacturing problems associated with them. Key to the success of the role will be the need to ensure compliance with applicable customer and other third-party specifications.
About the role:
* To support Health, Safety and environmental activities to sustain a safe working environment ensuring all employees, visitors, and contractors comply with current & future site rules & regulations.
* To complete health and safety audits, near-miss reporting, risk assessment incidents, and accident investigations are conducted promptly, & actions to address any areas of concern are defined & implemented.
* Ensure all Heat Treatment, Brazing, Super Plastic Forming, and Hot Form processes onsite are operated in line with customer and third-party requirements.
* To support the maintenance of NADCAP Accreditations for Heat Treatment by conducting pre-audits ensuring the site is prepared for the audit and any actions are responded to appropriately.
* Leading of NADCAP audits for Heat Treatment.
* Support actions to prevent non-conformances relating to the product, process and quality system.
* Support investigations into relevant quality failures to determine root cause and implement relative corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence & reduce the cost of Quality
* Support elements of P1 projects to deliver process mitigation or productivity improvements
* Provide process support & resources for new product or process introduction & optimization
* Completing routing reviews for Special Process compliance
* Provide technical specifications & justification to support the Capital investment process
* To Liaise with external bodies to ensure the Special Process team are aware of the latest specification & technologies
* To implement best practice for process procedures on site
* Provide Special Process advice to manufacturing and quality engineers
About you:
* You will have a HNC (or higher) in a relevant subject (materials / metallurgy) OR significant industry experience.
* Minimum 5 years relevant Aerospace experience, working with Titanium, Nickel Alloys and Stainless Steel.
* Experience leading NADCAP audits
* Experience completing manufacturing routing reviews ensuring Special Process Compliance
