About the Team and Role:
An exciting opportunity has become available to work in the Specialist Commissioning Team for Children and Young People with Special Educational Needs (SEN). The team makes a significant and positive impact on the lives of Children and Young People and their families. By working directly with schools and various professionals, you can contribute to ensuring that Children and Young People receive appropriate support and opportunities for their development and learning.
The overall purpose of this role is to support the provision of appropriate placements and support for Children and Young People with additional needs, including SEND. You will work closely with teams across the education hub, and disabled children’s service, to ensure effective planning and monitoring processes are in place for each individual with additional needs including SEND.
You will need to work closely with partner agencies to ensure provision is appropriate and effective, contributing to maintaining good relationships with providers. This is key to the brokerage of quality individualised packages of education and support, whilst ensuring that statutory requirements and timescales are adhered to.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will need to have working knowledge of Special Educational Needs, in particular relevant legislation, along with identifying safeguarding concerns.
You will also require experience of working within an education/children’s services department along with experience of working with Children and Young People, with SEN, and their families.
As this is a support role, you would also have proven experience in observation, evaluation and report writing, along with data management skills.
