Ackerman Pierce is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Adult Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) to cover a long-term staff absence between June the 17th and October the 4th 2024.

A successful candidate will be working part-time 2-3 days per week during weekdays only. This role does not include on-call or weekend shifts. You will provide a specialist SLT service to adult patients (inpatients and outpatients) with communication and / or swallowing disorders resulting from acquired neurological / medical / surgical conditions.

The role will be based across the inpatient wards and intensive care and will also include outpatient work. Independent skills with a dysphagia caseload are essential, as there will be times when you will be the only SLT working on site. Experience in working independently with an outpatient voice case load is highly desirable.

Experience in working with a head and neck cancer caseload, as well as competencies in instrumental swallowing assessment (VFS and FEES) are desirable but not essential. Cromwell Hospital is a Private Hospital offering a range of services including, but not limited, to oncology, neurology, critical care, and ENT.

You will be supported by one other senior SLT and will work closely and collaboratively with other members of the MDT including physio, OT, dietitians, clinical nurse specialists and consultants.

Salary: £36/h (Day shifts)

What you'll need as a Speech Language Therapist - Private Hospital:

• Highly specialist knowledge acquired through degree or equivalent qualifications, including further theoretical training and experience to Master's level equivalent in required speciality
• Continued Professional Development evidenced by attendance at short specialist postgraduate courses to maintain and develop own specialist knowledge and expertise.
• Recognised Speech & Language Therapy Degree Qualification or equivalent (Post Graduate Diploma or MSc in Speech & Language Therapy leading to registration with HCPC)
• HCPC Licence to Practice, Registered member of Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists, Membership of relevant CEN
• 6 months of paid patient facing UK nursing experience from within the past 3 years
• Up-to-date clinical best practice knowledge
• The right to work in the UK
