Job description

In this role, you will take responsibility for the creation, implementation, and monitoring of marketing and social media campaigns with a student focus, aimed at raising the profile of Sport & Active Life. You will coordinate the production and distribution of printed marketing materials, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and effective utilisation. Additionally, you will annually review marketing strategies in collaboration with the Sports & Active Life Team to ensure alignment with the Commercial Strategy and the broader plan for Sport and Active Life.
You will work closely with the facilities team, Sports Experience Team, and commercial team to develop and execute a comprehensive marketing plan across all areas. Facilitating training sessions on social media for the wider Sport and Active Life team will be part of your responsibilities. Moreover, you will maintain a network of contacts from internal and external stakeholders to leverage support and maximize audience reach.
In terms of events and engagement, you will support the planning, organisation, and delivery of department-related events, ensuring they are executed within budget, timeline, and objectives. Collaborating with Team Leicester Sports Clubs and the Students’ Union, you will ensure events are inclusive, of high quality, and effectively showcase the University’s sports offerings. Utilising proactive marketing strategies, you will aim to increase attendance at programs and classes such as Let’s Do Leicester and Campus Leagues.

As the ideal candidate, you will be educated to A Level standard or equivalent or with equivalent relevant experience, alongside an understanding of social media channels and social marketing tools, and the ability to create content. Previous experience within a sporting or higher education environment is ideal. You will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders. 
You will be able to create, monitor and review marketing campaigns, analysing large amounts of data and providing informative reports. You will need to be IT literate with knowledge and experience of using MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
