Are you a qualified Mental Health nurse who is interested in working in a new and dynamic team where support and training for staff is prioritised?
If you are, an exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the Trust at our Meadow Unit - a purpose built 8 bedded psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU) for children and adolescents at the Warneford hospital in Oxford.
This Unit will provide short term intensive treatment for acutely unwell adolescents while keeping the young people as close to home as possible.
We provide care for young people with a range of difficulties including eating disorders, anxiety OCD, depression and bipolar mood disorders, unusual experiences and psychosis, trauma, self-harm, and relationship and attachment-based difficulties. Families are often contending with multiple and complex psycho-social difficulties, and we aim to take a holistic approach guided by evidence and best-practice.
This is a specialist service which will equip you with developing a range of skills including acute management of Mental Health, functional assessments and models of therapy such as Dialectical Behaviour therapy and trauma work. Rotational posts are also available within CAMHS services including the Highfield GAU.
We are seeking individuals who are compassionate and enthusiastic and who are able to work collaboratively with the patient and family during an acute phase of a young person’s illness.
