Futon Company is a well-known high street brand that specialises in innovative, space saving furniture, inspiring textiles and appealing accessories. Almost everything we sell is designed in house or by designers we know, and all of our futon mattresses are made by hand in our London workshop. As experts in small space living, we have 23 stores across the UK, as well as a robust online business.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to run our BRAND NEW store in Leeds.
Role and responsibilities summary
- Lead a highly customer focused team to maximise sales and exceed targets through driving passion for the product and brand
- Manage and motivate the team to offer outstanding customer service
- Demonstrate the use and importance of product knowledge and enthusiasm to maximise sales
- Manage the general operations of the store, taking responsibility for decisions made at store level
- Ensure the customer is at the heart of all operations
- Deal with customer complaints efficiently and professionally
- Ensure all promotions are followed within the given time frame, and that all merchandise is priced clearly and according to guidelines
- Recruit excellent customer service driven team members. Coach, train and monitor performance and attendance of staff
- Work a varied schedule, including weekends
- Ensure all admin, policies and procedures are carried out efficiently and accurately
- Ensure visual merchandising guidelines are followed and standards are high. Regular communication with Visual Merchandise Manager
Required knowledge, skills and experience
- Excellent communication, with the ability to form and maintain relationships with customers, and across the business as a whole
- 2-4 years management & sales experience in a customer service driven role
- Proven track record of driving sales and achieving targets
- Proven experience of managing and motivating a team to drive their performance and service levels
- Outstanding customer service
- A proactive attitude towards always striving to improve, with a logical and methodical approach to problem solving
- Excellent organisation and planning
- Strong visual merchandising
- Good competency with IT
