Do you have strong leadership skills and a proven background as a Stores Supervisor?
We are currently recruiting for a Stores Supervisor on a temporary basis to join a specialist prototype project based on-site at a prestigious automotive OEM in Coventry.
This project is short-term, initially 6 - 9 months. However there is a possibility of the project being extended or suitable candidates being utilised on projects elsewhere.
The Stores Supervisor will be responsible for storing components and delivering the right parts to line, in time with the build plan. A significant portion of stock is stored externally, so you will also be required to ensure delivery and collection of parts are scheduled in line with build requirements. Alongside this, you will have a small team of 2 - 3 store persons, who you will be responsible for overseeing.
You will rotate on weekly shift patterns. Shift patterns are:
- AM Shift - 06:00am - 14:00pm Mon - Thurs / 06:00am - 11:00am Friday
- PM Shift - 14:00pm - 22:00pm Mon - Thurs / 11:00am - 16:00pm Friday
Weekend overtime may be available.
Responsibilities for the Store Supervisor include but are not limited to:
- Supervising the team to provide the logistical operations for all material planning, flow and logistics
- Coordinating and supporting with the shipping and delivery of material
- Ensuring the right parts are delivered at the right time, in line with the build plan
- Creating and presenting KPI's and metrics
- Managing storage on and off-site, raising transportation requests etc
- Obtaining, analysing and understanding build plans and bill of materials to ensure correct parts are identified and batched
- Creating and managing risk assessments and processes
- General supervisory work such as managing holiday, sickness, inductions and training
The ideal candidate will have the following experience for the Store Supervisor:
- Proven experience working as a Stores Person, Material Coordinator, Parts Planner etc
- Strong team leading and supervisory experience gained within an Automotive, Manufacturing or Engineering environment.
- Excellent logistics and part batching knowledge
- Proven track record of working to tight deadlines
- Computer literate, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, experience with ERP Systems eg SAP would be useful
- Excellent communication skills and ability to integrate/liase key stakeholders in the production and engineering areas
- Ability to resolve issues promptly, within a professional manner.
- Organised, resilient, with the ability to think outside the box.
- Able to commute to Coventry reliably.
