A fantastic opportunity has arisen within a very successful company in Medway Towns for a Stores Person to work in the main factory on a permanent basis.
Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, typically 07.00-15.30 Monday-Friday, you will be responsible for helping to manage and organise the arrival, storage, issue and recording of stock movements into the factory and in and out of main stores.
Your main duties will include:
- Taking delivery of goods in
- Checking quantities delivered against the purchase order
- Checking the quality of delivered items, including damaged or faulty items
- Telephoning suppliers to resolve issues
- Processing goods in /out on the company computer system
- Ensuring that minimum stock levels are maintained
- Coordinating with Purchase and Accounts Department
- Responsible for stock valuation
- Preparing items for dispatch and assisting with dispatch
- Maintaining an organised and tidy store
Experience/Qualifications
- Desirable experience using Pegasus Opera
- Counter Balance Forklift Licence
- Previous experience of working in a warehouse environment.
- Well organised.
- Ideally have previous experience of overseas shipping and customs documentation.
- IT Literate: MS Office and database operation.
- Physically fit as some heavy lifting is involved.
