Strategic HR Advisor
Service Care Solutions are seeking an experienced HR professional to work within the North Wales Police, supporting the Head of People & Organisational Development (POD) by assisting in delivery across several important areas.
Location: Colwyn Bay (Hybrid)
Job Role/Responsibilities:
Initially the role will focus on supporting the Head of POD to ensure the business as usual (BAU) service delivery of the HR Team is efficient and effective.
It is anticipated that the role will then place a greater emphasis on the delivery and change plans needed to optimise the HR function and its services.
- To support the delivery of the POD strategy ensuring that the HR services & delivery plan are fully aligned.
- To take the lead role in developing and implementing a delivery plan for the HR function that supports the realisation of the wider POD strategy.
- To ensure that critical guidance, policy, and procedure to underpin HR services are in place and based on good practice.
- To provide professional leadership and expert advice on Human Resource matters, supporting the Head of POD to oversee the function's activities.
- To ensure that business as usual POD services are efficient and effective and meet the needs of the wider organisation.
- To act as a key Strategic partner to the Director of Finance & Resources and the wider senior team on important HR matters.
Experience/Knowledge required:
- Relevant evidenced experience working in a Senior HR Management role.
- Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) fellow/membership (although applications will also be considered from other levels of membership of the CIPD who also possess proven relevant HR leadership experience at a strategic/leadership level).
- Evidence a clear understanding of strategic & operational HR, and its role in improving organisational performance.
- Significant leadership experience within a large fast-paced organisation, with a proven track record of delivering results in an operational HR context; meeting challenging organisational goals and creating the momentum to deliver significant change.
- The ability to build effective working relationships through a clear communication and a collaborative approach.
- Capable of thinking beyond the constraints of current ways of working and is prepared to propose and support change when required to ensure HR services meet the organisation's needs.
- Strong inter-personal and influencing skills to effectively communicate at all levels within the organisation with a leadership style that promotes team spirit and morale.
- Strong problem-solving skills to resolve complex disputes and problems.
- Ability to quickly assimilate information and appreciate the relevance of wider implications of issues that emerge.
- Ability to make sound and far-reaching strategic decisions on major issues and take responsibility for them.
- To demonstrate a wide knowledge and experience of consultation & negotiation in a unionised environment and sound knowledge of employment legislation.
