Job description

Purpose of the job and what you will achieve.

As the Strategic Partnerships Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving our growth strategy in line with our company’s mission. You will be responsible for forging Strategic Partnerships and stakeholder relationships to enhance future bidding prospects. You will work closely with the Director of Business Development and provide information and guidance to other members of the team to support the production of high-quality tenders.

  • You understand how UK skills, employment, justice and health contracts are commissioned at central and local government levels.
  • You have excellent written and verbal skills, and you are adept at presenting.
  • You can build and nurture relationships with stakeholders, listen and respond appropriately to stakeholder information and feedback.
  • You have led projects and managed the flow of information between stakeholders and the Business Development and operational teams.
  • You are a strategic thinker and align your activities with organisational goals and take a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • You are collaborative in nature and work efficiently with internal teams across functions.
  • You can also work independently, manage multiple priorities simultaneously and show initiative in identifying new opportunities.

Your day-to-day job.

Market Analysis:

  • Develop an understanding of the purpose and benefits of engaging with different stakeholder types.
  • Support the identification of suitable target stakeholders.
  • Conduct in-depth market research to ensure an understanding of the stakeholder’s objectives and the opportunities for Get Set UK.
  • Stay informed about industry developments, policy changes, and competitor activities and their impact on Get Set UK’s commercial growth strategy.
  • Contribute to the identification of new tender and wider business development opportunities.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Lead the development and implementation of a Business Development Partnership Engagement Strategy to support the achievement of business objectives.
  • Build and nurture relationships with stakeholders, including government bodies, local authorities, and stakeholder groups to foster collaboration and mutual support.
  • Proactively engage with stakeholders to understand their needs, priorities and challenges and identify opportunities for Get Set UK.
  • Showcase Get Set UK’s expertise and, where relevant, local experience and existing relationships.
  • Use stakeholder discussions, to help position Get Set UK for upcoming opportunities including opportunities for collaboration.
  • Seek representation at relevant partnership forums and boards.
  • Represent the organisation at industry events, networking forums and at local board meetings.
  • Accurately record all stakeholder engagement activities.

Supply Chain Development:

  • Support the creation of consortia for upcoming opportunities by leveraging existing stakeholder relationships.
  • Help create effective supply chains for upcoming opportunities by supporting with the Expression of Interest process.
  • Support Business Development colleagues to identify and engage local stakeholders for upcoming tender opportunities.
  • Support the negotiation of partnership agreements, contracts, and service level agreement with partner/supply chain organisations.

Share insights:

  • Support Business Development colleagues to create high-quality tender responses through the provision of timely, relevant stakeholder and local landscape information.
  • Support operational teams to deliver effective support through the provision of timely, relevant information including information about local employment/skills initiatives and networks.

Business Strategy:

  • Support the Director of Business Development in developing and implementing growth strategies aligned with organisational goals.

Collaboration:

  • Collaborate efficiently with internal teams, including finance, marketing, HR, and operations as required.

Experience & qualifications.

  • Bachelor’s degree level or equivalent preferred.
  • Evidence of continued professional development is a plus.
  • Approximately 5+ years’ experience of building and sustaining external stakeholder relationships at a senior level.
  • Experience in identifying and supporting business growth opportunities
