Pitman Training Group is a small business in Manchester. We are professional, agile, customer-centric, and our goal is to Pitman Training is a UK Super Brand, with over 180 years of experience in supplying career-focused training. We have over 250 courses, awards and diplomas which are recognised across the UK, and accredited by renowned awarding bodies. Our training subjects include: Microsoft Office, Accounting and Bookkeeping, Business and Management, IT, Software and Web Development, Data Analysis and Graphic Design. All our courses are self-paced, and designed to give our students the flexibility to study in a way that suits their lifestyle – either at in-centre, online, or a mixture of both.

Throughout, they have the support of our in-house Learning Coaches for queries, guidance, motivation and encouragement in order to help them achieve their goals - and that’s where you would come in! Alongside our commitment to helping our students achieve their career aspirations, we also host a wide range of examinations in our training centre which formulates a large part of the Learning Coach role.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Pitman Training Learning Coach, you will be primarily responsible for:

  • Ensuring that all our Pitman Training students are supported, motivated and encouraged throughout their learning journey.
  • That exceptional customer service is provided at all times.

The main daily responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to, the following tasks:

  • Managing, administering and invigilating high stake examinations, ensuring all policies are adhered to.
  • Providing a first point of contact to students and exam candidates for any queries.
  • Provide support throughout our student’s learning journey, for all queries in relation to their studies, ensuring resolution.
  • Working alongside students 1 to 1 where they require extra support with elements of their course.
  • Motivating and encouraging students to help them reach their career and training goals.
  • Monitor student progression, and where students face learning barriers, conduct discussions to aid completion.
  • Provide job-seeking assistance through the running of mock interviews and CV clinics.
  • Celebrating student success including through facilitating Graduation Ceremonies for students who have completed their studies.
  • General administration and record keeping, ensuring high levels of accuracy.
  • Assisting with the continued generation of content for social media platforms.
  • Sharing in the responsibility and management of the day to day running of the training centre.
  • Undertaking any other duties reasonably requested in the delivery of the companies’ objectives.

You will be working closely with the existing team to constantly maintain and improve our services, and this is an exciting opportunity to become part of a passionate team and growing business.

The Person

  • Passionate about helping others
  • Previous experience in administration, customer-focused environments, or other related roles
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Confident in using IT
  • Self- motivated and willing to learn new skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
  • Highly organised, with the ability to prioritise workload, and a proven ability to work with little supervision
  • An experienced and enthusiastic team player, able to provide comprehensive support for the wider team to achieve their goals
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite essential
  • Bonus if you have any accounting/medical or legal knowledge
  • Pitman Training Diploma or relevant qualification (desirable but not essential).
  • Whilst these skills are important, it is personality and attitude that is key for this role, and you will need to have a genuine interest in people and their professional development journey.

Hours of work:

  • 37.5 hours per week, on a shift pattern. Mostly 8:30 – 5:00 and including some evenings until 8 pm and Saturdays.
  • This is a full time on location position (Manchester City Centre).
