About us Sitting within Student Support and Wellbeing’s suite of support services, the Study Abroad Team is responsible for the delivery of a programme of opportunities for students to gain global experience as part of their UCL studies. The team operates as the first point of pastoral and practical support for students throughout all stages as they research, prepare for and undertake a Study Abroad placement. About the role The postholder will work with Study Abroad Coordinators across the team to support delivery of the Study Abroad cycle with a specific focus on the administration of UCL’s exchange programme, which sees over 500 undergraduate students studying and working abroad as part of their degree programme each year. This includes working with the European Programmes Coordinator to assist with the administration of the Turing programme. Student advising is a key component of the Study Abroad Adviser role and the postholder will triage student enquiries, supporting them through 1-1 online appointments, UCL’s student enquiry system and in face-to-face drop-ins to help them get the most from their time abroad. This is a varied and student-focused role, working in a dynamic team within Student Registry Services who are committed to excellence in student support and promotion of the diverse and exciting range of global opportunities that UCL offers. This role will be fixed-term until 31 August 2024 in the first instance. About you The successful applicant will have experience of working with students undertaking a Study Abroad placement as part of their degree programme. You will have excellent interpersonal skills with an empathetic approach to ensure the delivery of timely and relevant support and outstanding accuracy and attention to detail, combined with excellent administrative and organisational skills.
