GE Grid Systems Integration (GSI) are looking for two Electrical Engineering graduates, preferably with a Power Engineering bias, who want to start their career journey work within a dynamic projects business. GE are offering the opportunity to undertake a two-year training period during which you will be able to learn about the key elements needed to design and deliver high-voltage substations.

Job Description
The GSI business team is a turnkey project business that works with its internal and external partners to engineer, procure, construct and commission many projects associated with the bulk transmission of electrical power.
These projects typically include:
- New high-voltage AC and DC substations
- Expansion and reinforcement of substations
- Onshore and offshore platform substations to facilitate windfarm connections and other renewable technologies incl oil and gas electrification.
- Transmission asset replacements
- Network compensation and stability projects
- Energy Storage Projects
- Tender Engineering:
- Delivery Engineering:
- Project Management:
- Project Controls:
- Construction and Commissioning
This rotation of the training provides a practical 'hands-on' approach to learning and has proven success.
Qualifications:
A Power Electrical Engineering degree prior to commencing employment in September 2024
Desired Characteristics:
While previous experience is not required, to be successful in this role you should have a strong interest in power and renewable engineering and be looking for this to be your chosen career.
You will have a natural desire to understand how things work and want to know how large capital projects are taken from a simple 'need case' to becoming a tangible asset. You will enjoy problem solving and see challenges as opportunities.
You will be a team player, with good communication and interpersonal skills, be a self-starter with a high level of flexibility, resilience and a self-learning attitude.
