Suicide Prevention Project Support Officer

Role Responsibility

We have an exciting opportunity in the Public Health Team for a Project Support Officer, reporting to the Public Health Specialist in the Suicide Prevention Programme.

This position will play a vital role in delivering the work programme of the very small (three people including this role) but influential Suicide Prevention Team based within KCC’s Public Health Team.

Previous experience of working in Suicide Prevention or mental health is not needed, but a willingness to work with extremely difficult and sensitive issues is required.

This is a great opportunity to get experience working on a number of key, nationally influential programmes; however, because we are such a small team there will be a need to be flexible and respond to emerging trends and issues, as well as helping out with practical tasks such as event management and meeting administration.

In all aspects of the role there will be a requirement to spread learning, share best practice and provide system leadership across health, local authority and charity partnerships.

You will work with internal and external partners to ensure that all projects are delivered effectively, to the required standard, within the agreed deadlines and in accordance with appropriate policies and procedures.

There will also be an expectation to develop and maintain key relationships across multiple stakeholders in a way that provides system leadership and drives progress against the Suicide Prevention Programme’s annual work plan.
