Division:Human Resources

Location: This role will work in our London Office, which is located near St Pauls and Bank stations. For our Summer Internship programme, we would expect you to spend most of your time in the London office.

Duration: The Internship Programme will run for a period between 8-12 weeks (Monday 17th June to the Friday 6th September). Please ensure you can fully commit to this timeframe.

Overview of ICBCS

ICBC Standard Bank is a joint venture between ICBC and Standard Bank Group specialising in commodities and emerging markets serving a global client base from four international offices. Division Summary

Human Resources serves all business lines and support functions across the bank with a range of HR support services.

The primary interface between HR and the business is a team of HR Business Partners (HRBPs), who liaise with other areas of the HR function to deliver core and ad hoc processes, as appropriate. HR also supports the successful execution of the bank's Culture Framework.

The HR Practice Teams support the development and delivery of the HR strategy. Practice teams define policies, procedures and controls, and provide specialist process support, advice and thought leadership for the entire HR value chain. Core transaction services are provided through the HR Operations functions.

HR Operations are responsible for a wide range of processes in the Employee lifecycle, through Recruitment, Payroll, HR Services, Management Information Systems and Data

Your Role

We are hiring for 2 positions within the HR Summer Internship Programme:

HR Operations

This job sits within the HR Operations team in the UK, servicing employees in all ICBCS locations - London, Asia and New York. This is a key, client-facing role, delivering HR transactional support and advice to all ICBC Standard Bank employees, temp, consultants and HR. The job holder will be the first point of contact and will be responsible for establishing and preserving strong relationships with internal clients, providing accurate and timely customer service and resolving HR transactions and administration. The job holder will also have the opportunity to work closely with Data & Analytics, Payroll and Recruitment teams.

  • Administration of the end to end HR employee lifecycle processes including but not limited to Offer Management for new joiners, Pre-employment screening, On-boarding & Off boarding, employee records, Learning Administration, Absence Management etc.
  • Assist in the preparation of employee letters and HR documentation
  • Maintenance of employee records across all HR Core Systems
  • Responsible for the document management processes within HR Services Team, ensuring that all required documentation is filed accordingly to employee personnel records and archiving of paper and digital files in accordance with GDPR.
  • Support HR Department with accurate and timely execution of tasks to meet daily deadlines
  • Support HR Operations Mangers through active participation in various HR projects

HR Business Partnering/Reward

Dual role supporting HR Business Partners and the Reward function in tracking progress, priorities, and deadlines of various HR projects.

Assist in scheduling and coordinating the roll out of a number of Training programmes and be first point of contact for employees.

Provide HR support in coordinating the Intern programme for the Bank

HRBP, L&D and Talent support:

  • Assisting with Learning and Development and Talent management programmes run centrally from HR
  • Supporting with initiatives such as Wellbeing and Employee Engagement, including coming up with new and creative solutions.
  • Support HRBP team with ad hoc projects
  • Support in analysing HR data and providing summaries to HRBP's
  • Assist in updating content on the HR Intranet website to enhance our internal branding.
  • Assist with ED&I communications and events where applicable
  • Assist with preparing communications to the Bank
  • Perform various administrative tasks and support our HR department's daily activities
  • Provide HR support in coordinating the Intern programme for the Bank

HR Reward support:

  • Supporting in creating Reward MI and reporting tools for year end process
  • Co-ordination of Employee Benefit (Private Medical, Life Insurance, Income Protection, Travel) renewals, including invoice management, terms and conditions, through to employee comms.
  • Project support in roll out of new voluntary benefits (Electric Vehicle, Health Assessment, Childcare Benefit)
  • Support in refresh of Share Portal system including vendor management and employee education comms

Your Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Mandarin language skills desirable
  • Project management experience an advantage
  • Knowledge of Learning & HR policies, procedures and administration processes desired
  • Strong organization, prioritization and multi-tasking skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Exceptional communication skills both written and oral
  • Highly developed problem solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency on all workstation applications e.g. Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to deliver to the required service standards in a customer focused environment
