Are you passionate about making a difference to the lives of young carers and their education?
Are you looking for a rewarding part-time, term time only role working with young people?
Join the Carers’ Hub team and get involved in an exciting project that supports young carers aged 11-16 with completing their homework in a supportive environment outside the classroom and away from any distractions at home.
Funded by Sir Walter St John, our homework club runs online 5-6pm every Monday and face to face every Tuesday between 4.30-6.30pm during term-time. You will be required to work 10 hours per week in total. The hours can be worked flexibly, other than the fixed times of the homework club.
Your role:
As the Homework Club Coordinator you will create a friendly, quiet and welcoming environment for the young carers to complete their homework and think positively about their education. You will be on hand to offer support and identify any young carers who may benefit from more intensive one-to-one support.
You will be the main point of contact for the project, liaising with schools, accepting new referrals, carrying out 1:1 appointments to support young carers with creating their individual learning plan as well as collecting and collating data to support project reporting.
You will support the work of the young carers team, working particularly closely with our Young Carers Project Officer, who will also be supporting 11-16-year-olds in schools.
Please note this post is term time only.
Closing date: 9am Thursday 11th January
